Corporate & tradeshow

For the customers you can’t afford to forget

A branded pen gets left on the table. A Kershaw with their name on one side and your logo on the other goes in their pocket and stays there for a decade — for less than the cost of two rounds at the hotel bar. We run tradeshow programs from 10 pieces to 500, each one individually named, boxed and labeled so your team can hand them out without sorting.

How it works

Three steps, no surprises

Step 01 · You send

Artwork or a name

Vector is ideal — AI, EPS, SVG, PDF. A clean PNG or a photo of a business card works too; we redraw it. No art fee under 25 pieces.

Step 02 · We proof

You approve the layout

You get a to-scale digital proof showing exact placement, size and mark tone on the actual product. Nothing goes under the laser until you reply yes.

Step 03 · We mark & ship

Marked, boxed, tracked

Engraved in-house, inspected, and shipped in a gift-ready box. Bulk orders arrive individually labeled by recipient name so nobody has to sort them at the booth.

Common questions

Before you order

Can you engrave a company logo on a knife?
Yes. Fiber laser marking etches directly into the steel or the anodized handle scale — it does not wear off, wash off or peel. Send any logo file you have; if all you have is a low-resolution image we will redraw it as clean vector art at no charge on orders of 25 or more.
What is your minimum order?
One. Most manufacturers who engrave in-house require fifty pieces or more before they will run your logo, and their lead times run seven to fourteen business days after art approval. We will engrave a single knife for a single retirement gift, and we will also run a five-hundred-piece tradeshow program.
How long does a custom engraved gift take?
Five to seven business days for in-stock items, counted from the moment you approve the proof. Bulk orders scale with quantity — see the ladder above. If you have a hard event date, tell us in the quote request and we will schedule production backward from it.
Can you engrave a wallet, tumbler or knife I already own?
In most cases, yes, though it is handled as a quoted job rather than a web order because we need to see the item and the material first. Send photos through the contact form. Note that we cannot accept liability for damage to irreplaceable heirloom pieces.
What materials can you mark?
Stainless and tool steel, titanium, anodized and bare aluminum, brass, copper, powder-coated tumblers, glass and crystal, leather, hardwood, slate and most rigid plastics. Fiber marking on steel produces a permanent oxide mark in a warm bronze-to-black tone depending on power and pass count; glass is frosted white.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes, anywhere in the United States, with tracking on every order. The shop is in Sugar Hill, Georgia, just off Highway 20 in north Gwinnett. Local pickup by arrangement.

Why this knifeThe Misdirect is the right blank for volume: a bead-blasted stainless handle marks with a warm bronze oxide that aluminium simply cannot produce, and the blank lands around $32. That is what lets a hundred-piece tradeshow run price sensibly. A Kershaw Blur or Leek is available as a premium tier on quote.

The Misdirect, Engraved

The tradeshow workhorse. A stainless-handled assisted flipper that takes a fiber mark better than anything else at the price — logo on the show side, recipient’s name on the reverse. The combination that turns a giveaway into a keepsake.

Corporate gifting & tradeshow programs

Your logo. Their name. One object.

Most promotional gifts are a cost line nobody defends. The ones that work are the ones a customer would have bought for themselves. We build named, boxed, event-ready gift programs on knives, wallets, multitools and glassware — from ten pieces for a board dinner to five hundred for a national show.

Use case 01

Tradeshow VIP drops

Not the tote-bag tier. A short run of named pieces for the twenty accounts you actually want at the booth, packed in labeled boxes so your reps hand out the right one.

Use case 02

Closed-deal & milestone gifts

Sent the week the contract signs, engraved with the project name and date. Cheaper than a steak dinner and it sits on their desk for years.

Use case 03

Service awards & retirements

Individually named pieces at any quantity, including one. Add years of service, a hire date, or a line only that team would understand.

Why not order direct from the manufacturerKershaw’s own corporate engraving program carries a fifty-piece minimum and a seven-to-fourteen business day lead time after art approval. We start at one, we mark both sides, and we will run artwork their template will not accept.

Individual naming

Send a spreadsheet of names and we handle the rest: each piece engraved, matched to its box, and labeled with the recipient so distribution at the event takes no thought. No per-name surcharge under 100 pieces.

The shop

How a mark gets made

Laser engraving is not printing. The beam changes the material itself, which is why the mark cannot wear off — and why the settings matter more than the machine.

On glass, the beam frosts

Micro-fractures scatter light and turn the surface white. Depth is controlled by power and pass count — too hot and the glass chips, too cold and the art looks grey and thin.

On steel, the beam oxidises

A fiber laser heats the surface without removing it, growing an oxide layer that reads as warm bronze, deep grey or near-black depending on frequency. Nothing is added to the blade, so the edge and heat treat are untouched.

About

Twenty years of watching good gifts get left on the table

Black Anvil Engraving exists because of a specific, repeated annoyance: standing in a tradeshow booth at the end of the last day, looking at a box of branded giveaways nobody took.

I am Peter Ashley. I am an electrical engineer by training — University of Cape Town — and I have spent close to twenty years in transportation technology across South Africa, the Netherlands and the United States. Long enough to have run large installations, and long enough to have signed off on a lot of corporate gift budgets.

What I learned on that side of the table is that the gift almost never fails because of the object. It fails because of the constraints around it. Manufacturers want fifty pieces minimum, so you order fifty of one design and hand the same thing to your biggest account and to a stranger who walked past. Artwork has to fit their template. Change anything and you start the lead time over. So everyone defaults to the safe, forgettable middle.

Small batches fix that. When the minimum is one, you can design the gift around the business receiving it — their mark, their colours, their project name, the recipient’s own name on the reverse — and you can change it for the next account without penalty. A knife for the customer who fishes gets the fly water. The wallet for the one who closed the biggest deal of the year gets his name on the clip. That is not a premium option. It is the entire point.

So the shop runs the way I wish my vendors had. One bench in Sugar Hill, Georgia. An xTool F2 Ultra that marks hardened steel, titanium, anodized aluminum and glass off the same bed. A proof in your inbox before anything is burned. And a minimum order of one, whether you need five hundred pieces for a national show or a single knife for someone retiring on Friday.
